St. Mary Convent - Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern U.S.

St. Mary Convent

About the Convent

The St. Mary Convent is the first Coptic Orthodox Convent in the United States under the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States. It is a place for females to have quiet time and spiritual reflection with our Lord. The convent is the residence for those females who want to consecrate their lives whether for worship (nuns) or for service (consecrated servants).

The St. Mary Convent originally opened in Daytona Beach, FL and resided there until 2010.

In 2010, the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States purchased a waterfront church and retreat center which currently is the home of the St. Stephen Christian Retreat Center. The St. Mary Convent has a temporary residence  within the retreat center until 2011.

In 2011, the St. Mary Convent has moved to its permanent location in San Antonio, TX.
